GB Team Selection for the 2018 European Championships

The Freestyle Committee invite you to enter team selection.

We are selecting a team to contest the European Freestyle Championships to be held in Slovakia during 13th August 2018 to 18th August 2018. Further information, when available, about the event will be communicated to the selected team.

Team staff (Team Manager and two Team Coaches) will be onsite from 11/12 August.

The committee will cover the entry fee, competition insurance and Team Uniform for those who were not a Team member in 2017. You will need to budget for travel, food and accommodation, however camping is available at a budget price. You will need to allow for a car share as local shops are several miles away.

Selection will be two events on one day, 19th May, at Holme Pierpont Nottingham with 26th May as back up date if the course is unusable.

The process will run in accordance with GB Team Selection Policy (Link) and Mitigating Circumstances Policy (Link) and ICF rules (link). You are advised to familiarise yourself with these policies and rules which provide full details of the process.

EDIT to Selection Policy (23/04/2018): The Second Feature will be Troll Hole at HPP due to Twin waves not being a suitable feature with latest course changes (Agreed by Selection Panel).

The closing date of 12th May will be strictly adhered to, meaning that if your entry is not in and paid for by the cut off time your entry will not be valid. This is to allow us time to prepare start lists and allocate bibs.

Entry can be applied for at the following at this link Entry opens at Midday 19th April.

You must have full and current British Canoeing Membership on the day of the event to be allowed to compete.

Please be prepared for an early start and late finish on the day.

The entry fee will be £30 plus £15 each for additional classes.

You are required to pay your own course user fee as we will be running during normal public sessions.

A timetable and any updates will be published on Facebook nearer to the event.
Classes at this event will be MK1, WK1, Unisex C1, JMK1, JWK1 (no squirt event at the European Championships).

Good luck and we look forward to seeing you at the event!
